Holiday Fire near Cal Expo

With each holiday, there are chances of a fire hazard. This winter season, it involves Christmas trees, holiday lights, and candles. This year we were alerted about a house fire near Cal Expo, Sacramento, CA caused by their Christmas tree. • Choose the freshest tree possible! Select a dry tree will have a higher chance of causing fires
• Set up tree at least 3 feet from any heat source, i.e. space heater, fireplace, or furnace
• Cut bottom of tree trunk and fill stand with water
• Install a smoke alarm to sense heat and smoke to alert you as soon as possible
